Behavioural couples therapy (BCT)

Behavioural couples therapy focuses on promoting abstinence or reducing illicit drug misuse in the drug-using member of the couple.


Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for common mental illness

CBT can help you to change how you think ("cognitive") and what you do ("behaviour"). It is particularly effective for depression and anxiety disorders.


Community detoxification

A treatment programme that helps drug withdrawal. It takes place in the community (through your GP or local drug service).


Community reinforcement approach

Community Reinforcement Approach is a psychosocial intervention which aims to change the service users environment to support change in drug use.


Contingency management - drug-free

Contingency management can be used to reduce illicit drug use by incentivising service users’ who demonstrate absence of use of specified drugs.


Counselling (registered/accredited)

Counselling by a registered and accredited counsellor, exploring any difficulties, distress, dissatisfaction, or loss of a sense of direction experienced by a service user.
